Melbourne’s wonderful Docklands Stadium is getting yet another corporate name change as of March, when the architecturally innacurate Telstra Dome becomes Etihad Stadium – Etihad is an airline from the United Arab Emirates and is based in Abu Dhabi.
Etihad also sponsors English Premier League side Chelsea and the Ferrari F1 team. Of course such this is lost on some of the readers of the Herald Sun web site who are worried that the name Etihad Stadium means that footy is going to be taken over my Muslim terrorists.
So cabin crew please arm doors and cross check, and strap yourselves in because it’s time out some of the shit scum that live among us. Please note I haven’t had a time to check spelling and shit so apologies in advance.
Hmm sounds like our aussie icon has been lost again to over seas- has the docklands become the united arab emirates? sure sounds like it….

Actually Lauren it’s still there. Etihad do have a fleet of Airbus A340 aircraft, but even they are unable to lift a 70,000 seat stadium away from here to the desert sands of the UAE. Anyway have you heard of Vodafone Arena, Shell Stadium, Optus Oval, the Toyota AFL Premiership Season etc – They are all foreign companies, but then they are not choco sounding companies so that’s OK isn’t it Lauren. Go back to reading New Idea you stupid fuck.
Extra security checks on entry will be needed with a name like that

Why Ian? Why would an Arab company pay millions to sponsor a stadium and blow it up? When was the last time there was a terrorist act in or originating from the United Arab Emirates. Honestly stay down the Penninsula and whack off to kiddie porn you cynical racist bucket of cock cheese.
forgot we are now a fully fledged Arab nation

No we’re not. Cunt.
Yet another step closer to Australia becoming an Islamic nation by the end of this century.

George, George, George … . I’m guessing you have a lovely little daughter who looks up at you with her cute wide eyes and thinks you’re a snivelling cunt sack. Where is the opposition to Emirates sponsoring the Melbourne Cup and Collingwood Football Club. Emirates is another UAE airline, what’s the difference. Is it because Emirates is a normal sounding word? Here’s an airline that is using Melbourne as it’s Australian hub. It has crerated plenty of jobs and wants to sponsor an iconic part of Melbourne and be part of our great game. To use your logic, I’d call it assimilation. But you have no logic do you, you mentally deficient xenophobic fuck knuckle.
can’t even work out how to say this name.. Eh – tee – had? I don’t even LIKE Telstra but i’ll keep calling it the Telstra Dome until people don’t know what i’m talking about. “The Dome” is a GREAT nickname.
Posted by: Brad of Melton 12:13pm today
Yes that’s exactly how you say it twat snot - fuck me dead how long has Australia had non-white immigration. How hard is it to get your tongue around that consiering Australia’s national airline is spelt with a Q and no U.
Stupid name that has no relationship with footy

Unlike Telstra. I don’t remember Sol Truhio winning the 2002 Brownlow Medal, or a Telstra call centre employee giving off a centimetre perfect 30m pass to Paul Medhurst during the 2008 Anzac Day match. Honestly you better check with your mum to make sure she didn’t abuse crack while pregant with your fetid form, because you have severe mind development issues and all your friends think you’re dumb cunt.
Worst name possible, what country are we living in, are they going to name a stadium in UAE vegimite stadium, i doubt it.
Posted by: Andrew of not etihad!! 12:16pm today
If Kraft Foods Australia coughed up the millions I think they fucking would. You’re proof that Vegemite has no benefits to the brain, you stupid fucking arse juice drinking bell end.
Its bad enough they steal from us by maintaining the high price of oil. But now they have to invade our culture. Oh well no footy matches will I go there to watch. Or on TV.
Posted by: Roger 12:23pm today
It’s bad enough that THEY allow thousands of Australians into their country to earn a tax free fortune. It’s bad enough that THEY consider Melbourne to be a worthy desination for THEIR airline and THEY have given a lifeline to the careers of many former Ansett employees. And like ME I bet they think that YOU are a CUNT!
I will always call it the Telstra Dome as many others. What sot of name is Etihad? Where when and who dicided that was the name of choice? As it is a Melbourne Icon why were we not given the chance to vote or have an input? Must have something to do with the Dollar. We call ourselves a democracy. It shall be known as the Telstra Dome.

What sort of name is Etihad? I grew up with a wog surname and used to cop that sort of shit all the time buy numb nits like you who have been hard wired to acceopt that only something with Anglo sounding name is “normal”. That’s why I hate you and your kind. Then you have the nerve to go on about democracy and your right to continue calling a sports ground after a listed company like Telstra (which by the way is a really stupid name) that runs a major part of our infrastructure but puts profits before service. I hope the stupidity kills you, fuck wad.
Where is United Arab Emirates anyway? South America? I’ve never been on a plane before but if I did it sure wouldn’t me with any Mexican wanna be airline like Etihad Airways.

Further comment is totally unnecessary.
will not conform. Just to pi$$ Collins off I am going to call it the Dahite stadium (Etihad spelt backwards.).
Posted by: anthony
You do that Anthony, you backward dumb cunt.
Greed makes the world go ’round. It also makes it unbelievably stupid. Is nothing sacred from the almighty sponsorship dollar. Thank God the MCG is precisely what it is, the MCG. The Sheffield Shield is back and sense prevails. I won’t be flying Egg Head, err Ed Had It, err Etihad.
Posted by: paul pearson of FNQ
Actually Paul the Sheffield Shield is back, and Cricket Australia would prefer you called it the Sheffield Shield with Wheat Bix. But Wheat Bix is OK isn’t it? Because Aussie kids eat Wheat Bix and it’s not some coon airline from “Mexico”.
what a bs name, it’s australia not iraq. come on it’s know as the dome and will always. Etihad what name is that???? come on AFL.
Posted by: daniel keogh of melbourne 12:52pm today
No, Melbourne is not Iraq and neither is the UAE for that matter. If Melbourne were Iraq it would be called Haliburton Stadium … honestly why do I bother. You really are the dog’s vomit that other dogs wouldn’t lick up aren’t you?
This is awful. I’m still going to call it HOMEBUSH like we always have.
Posted by: Rex 12:52pm today
Rex you dumb fuck – Telstra Dome Melbourne, not Telstra Stadium Sydney. Who the fuck kicked your box, you stupid Sydney gimp.
Arabs don’t need to declare war to get what they want b/c they simply buy it …. In 50-100 years , the Aussie life style will be gone , replaced with Sharia law so live it up before you all get converted….lol Posted by: abdul of islamamelbourne 12:53pm today
And I hope you’re the first cunt they behead. Cunt.
Racism is alive and well

I’m watching Lateline at the moment which has a story about a group of young Aboriginal leaders asked to leave an Alice Springs resort where they were attending a first-aid course sponsored by Lifesaving Australia.
According to Lateline the group of mostly young Aboriginal women and children were asked to leave a backpacker’s hostel, which they had booked because they needed a pool to do their course, after Asian guests complained to management they were scared of Aborigines. The women are considered young leaders in their communities.
This will no doubt be a big story tomorrow and it will be interesting to see how the racist filth on A Western Heart and the News Corp websites’ reader comments react to this, especially as they’re unable to hide behind their petty arguments against Sorry Day such as “it was a long time ago”.
Let’s see the excuses they rattle out like how the “Abo’s must have something wrong” or how hotel staff were misunderstood by a bunch of oversensitive “Abos” with chips on their shoulders. Interestingly the racist filth will be in a hell of a quandry if it’s proven that it was Asian tourists who complained to management – we’ll be able to see which race they hate more?
