‘Sexist’ comments need to be put into perspective

Posted by clubwah on August 1, 2008

Women have a lot more to worry about than Sam Newman

The Footy Show’s Sam Newman is again embroiled in a sexism controversey after a remark about a Tasmanian politician on the show. Sam insists he was inviting the poltician, Tasmania’s Economic Development and Tourism Minister Paula Wriedt, who is rather attractuve, on to the show to campaign for the state’s bid for an AFL team when he said: “It would be worthy of coming on, her.”

The remark was taken by his co-hosts as sexual but he immediately insisted he was taken out of context. Obviously this story is now headlining the news web sites and we won’t hear the last of it.

Regardless of the meaning of Sam’s comment we should take a step back and realise it will hardly damage Ms Wriedt, who I’m sure would accept any apology if it were forthcoming.

At the same time another football related sexism story has appeared online, but will not get the same attention as Sam’s remarks, despite it being far more insidious.

It has been alleged a female paramedic was subjected to sexually explicit remarks while surrounded by naked footballers in a change room in western Victoria, while treating a player who had broken his leg during a game on June 28.

As is usually the case, the keepers of the fucking thugs, the football league and club management, have refused to discuss the allegations, stating they are “speaking with Ambulance Victoria on the matter and that undisclosed “sanctions” had been applied to one of the club’s concerned.

Fuck that! Name and shame the fucking meatheads who did this and ban them from ever playing football again. If not the daily newspapers should stop reading press releases, get behind the truth of the story and if the claims stack up reveal the fuckers for the sexist pigs they are.

Of course this won’t happen because everyone will be on Sam Newman’s back for a remark that would have went over most people’s heads if James Brayshaw hadn’t pulled Sam up.

It would be trivialising sexism if this story were blown out of proportion while the cases that did cause real harm and intimidation continued to go vicrtually innoticed.

Knowing when to get the fuck out of the way

Posted by clubwah on July 31, 2008

Three important things I’ve learned in my life now that I’m half way through it.

A) Never get between a salt-water crocodile and the water

B) Never get between a hippopotamus and it’s young

C) Never get between a hoard of women and the doors of peak hour train at any Melbourne CBD station. I mean what’s that matter with you crazy arse bitches, were you raised by fucking wolves? Does a pair of white sneakers with your office clothes give you licence to storm onto a train while others are still trying to get off? Do you believe that you’re the only one who has worked hard all day so thus, of all the people trying to squeeze on to trains everyday, God has singled YOU out for his given right to have a fucking seat?

Are you happy when you shove pregnant or elderly women aside, in a way that would make Barry Hall cringe, so you can sit on your big fat fucking arse and read mX or New Idea? Are you? Why don’t you show some fucking manners, all of you.

Women claim chilvary is dead, but as far as I’m concerned all bets are off. Get fucked. I used to give up seats for women just because they were women. But after nearly having my nuts ripped off by one crazy bitch’s handbag just because she wanted her choice of fucking seat I don’t feel so fucking charitable any more.

So ladies let me say this. Unless you’re pregnant or old (and I mean really fucking old because fuck it if you can walk around Myer all day you can stand on a train) than I am fucked if I am going to forgo a seat for you and your gender anymore.

Take your white sneakers, your handbags and your copy of mX and fuck off!

When did we start becoming so nosey about how other people raise their kids?

Fit, healthy and subject to public judgement

A story on the front page of the Herald Sun  today shows a 10-year-old girl in a body-building competition who looks fit and normal for her age, but with her muscles tense to show off the results of her exercising

Despite the fact that the girl loves what she is doing and is doing it for fun, is keeping fit and is doing no harm to her body the Herald Sun has sought to ridicule her and demonise her parents with the line that she is somehow being exploited and damaged.

The paper wheeled out the usual suspects to subtly condemn the mother, including media-slut child psychologist Michael Carr-Gregg, who says this was sending the wrong message to image-conscious kids.

“What they should be saying to kids is they should be more valued more for what they do than how they look,” said the the rent-a-quote kiddy shrink.

Carr-Gregg, as usual, is full of shit. A sport like body building is a lot about doing. The girl is doing it to look good to judges, not to look better than her peers. It’s not like 10 year olds are being lines up compared on their looks against their will.

I would have thought this teaches children about self respect, nutrition and how to be active - does Carr-Gregg want her to be part of the mythical childhood obesity epidemic instead.

This is no different to junior dance competitions, which my daughters often take part in, where children are judged on technique and appearance. As for the physical demands of body-building on a child, check out the physical demands on kids who give dance and a real shot. According to her mother the girl does not use weights, just exercises, which are probably no more strenuous to the stretch classes that dancers endure.

It’s so unfair for the parents of this girl to be accused of somehow doing the wrong thing by her. This is a normal family who does not deserve to be on the front page of a newspaper and put at risk of public condemnation, by fucktards who follow this kind of bullshit like sheep.

Why can’t the self-rightious lot at the Herald Sun and Dr Carr-Gregg, concentrate on the 100 kids who needs emergency accommodation in Melbourne every night, or those children that are being found dead through neglect in their own homes on a far too regular basis.

And as readers it’s about fucking time we stopped passing judgement on people who are doing no wrong by their kids.

Things that make you say “get fucked” out loud #1

Posted by clubwah on July 16, 2008

Hidden in a story about a proposed rail tunnel for Melbourne being widely well received was this suggestion by CityLink tollway operator Transurban about a proposed east-west road tunnel.

“CityLink operator Transurban said the road tunnel should be built as a tollway - but even then it could only be built with additional Government funding. And new tolls should be placed on existing freeways, Transurban said, as a way of managing congestion.”

GET FUCKED!

Anti-desal protestors should speak for themselves

Posted by clubwah on July 15, 2008

I like the idea of a desalination plant. If Dubai can lush green golf courses I’d like to be able to grow a few square metres of lawn and not have to replace dead plants every spring, without fear of breaking the law. I also want to have 10 minute showers and enjoy the lovely sound of sprinklers on a warm summer’s night.

And while I sympathise a little bit with the NIMBY’s in South Gippsland who don’t want the plant built in the Wonthaggi area, I take issue with the name of their protest group “Your Water, Your Say”.

OK it is my water, and I say build the fucking desal plant!

I think “Our region, our say” would be a far more appropriate name. Or, if I was being more cynical, “Our property values, our say”.

Hell ride through City Loop? You’ve got to be shitting me

Posted by clubwah on July 3, 2008

Oh fuck the door is open - we are all going to perish!

Finish the sentence, from this EXCLUSIVE story from The Age web site.

Terrified train passengers held on to each other as a Sydenham train sped towards the City Loop … :

a) on fire.
b) with a bomb planted under a seat.
c) which had trains banked up because of an earlier accident.
d) with a door wide open.

If you answered D) you answered correctly and are probably thinking, like I did, STIFF FUCKING SHIT!

The story goes on:

A shaken passenger, who did not want to be named, said she clutched her heavily pregnant* friend as the packed train left North Melbourne just before 8am with the door open.
“We were pretty close to the doorway and as you leave North Melbourne the tracks are very wobbly and the train rocks backwards and forwards so we had to pretty much hang on for life,” she said.
The passenger said a man near the doorway repeatedly pressed the emergency response button but the train did not slow down or stop.

Call me ignorant, but I just want to ask a simple question, and excuse the the use of caps here - WHY THE FUCK DID NO CUNT SHUT THE FUCKING DOOR!

OK, so it’s claimed that people tried shutting the door but couldn’t. Why not? I’ve seen four foot tall Vietnamese women pry open the doors at Flinders Street as a train is trying to leave. Are you telling me no one was able to shut a train door?

Harden up people. I remember when there were the old red and blue trains we used love standing by the open doors. Imgine these fuckers in India!

Public transport gets such a bad wrap. Like after that unfortunate incident at the weekend when Richmond footballer Graham Polak, was seriously injured, in what the newspapers called a ”freak tram accident”.

Now I wasn’t at the accident scene, but to me a freak tram accident is when you get hit by a tram while sunbaking at Apollo Bay, or sitting on the shitter reading the new Australian version of Top Gear. Don’t fucking imply it’s somehow the tram’s fault because young Graham didn’t see it going about its fucking business.

Honestly … !

* Why did no fucker offer the heavily pregnant women a seat?!

Oh for fuck’s sake are we healthy or not?

Posted by clubwah on June 25, 2008

I was about to go to bed when I saw this report on The Age web site saying Australians are now the second-longest-living people on earth with falling death rates for cancer, heart disease, stroke and injury.

Yet earlier this week alarm bells rang when another report said Australia has overtaken America as the world’s fattest nation. While yet another report, published yesterday said “Australians are fatter, lazier and suffering more sexually transmitted diseases than ever.

So fuck! Which one is it?

It’s time medical lobby groups stopped putting out research skewed to their own agendas and for the media to stop lapping this shit up. There’s a danger that research fatigue will stop people from heeding the few reports that actually provide facts and good advice.

We should also investigate whether the Body Mass Index that rates obesity is accurate for modern bodies, or as useful as saying three beers is binge drinking.

Let’s hunt some Herald Sun-reading fucktards shall we

Posted by clubwah on June 3, 2008

Tell me the Herald Sun did not publish this story to stir up more racial hatred against Muslims, as if the poor bastards haven’t suffered enough of it this week. Note how they illustrate the story with women in Burkhas, which trades on people’s fear and prejudices against Islam - why not a pic of a mosque?

The article, about Muslims leaving regional Victorian cities like Warrnambool because there were no mosques in which to worship, sparked the usual fucktard comments along the lines of “if they don’t like it they should go home”.

The story mentions how the Islamic Council of Victoria wants ”to lobby the local council about building a mosque in Warrnambool”. While this could mean getting planning approval to build a mosque without being subjected to hysterical xenophobic objections, most readers who commented saw this as a request for the council to build a mosque. Of course you can imagine the comments that came with that.

So, I have loaded my AK-47, the semi-automatic rifle of choice for communists and Islamic insurgents and have trawled through the comments to put large gaping exit wounds through the orgy of fucktardery, ignorance and xenophobia that the Herald Sun’s online editor has proudly cultivated.

Let’s lock and load.

Now imagine if i was in Saudi Arabia whinging that I wanted to build a church. They would be off with my head..talk about double standards and hypocrisy. Don’t like it, move back to Mecca..simple!
Posted by: Habibi 8:08pm today

How funny, you use the name Habibi but that’s not your real name is it? It’s a fun name because you actually hate Muslims. If your post was against blacks you would have used the name Jigaboo, or Hymie if you dared be as anti-Semetic as you are anti-Islam. Actually the Saudi’s have agreed to build a Catholic church in their country after King Abdullah met the Pope a few months ago. And guess what, the Pope still has his head, which is more than I can say about you, you brainless cunt! Also Mecca isn’t where most Muslims actually come from. That would be like telling you to go back to the Deni Ute Muster, you stupid redneck fuck!

Muslims in Australia are lobbying for mosques! Count yourselves extremely lucky in this great land of freedom where you all can practise FREEDOM. Take a look at people of other faiths in many of those predominantly muslim countries, they have no freedom of speech, no freedom of religion, even no freedom of dress code. They interfere with how non- muslims dress up, they consider their own way of doing things as the best and the most holy. Anybody who is not a muslim is discriminated against. Their religion is just SKIN DEEP. The Camden incident is a true reflection of democracy and freedom at work, people can vote for what they believe in and practise fair go for the Camden residents. Muslims should not retaliate because your actions speak louder than your belief. Respect the voice of the Camden community, this is Australia not the country from where you came from. Otherwise you can never have a good reputation anywhere in this globe.
Posted by: Katharina Thomas 7:02pm today

Thomas is your married name isn’t it. You’re Kate McCulloch’s stupid sister aren’t you, you fucked up ingnorant bitch. Get your fucking facts right before mouthing off about Muslims. As for Camden what the fuck are you on about? What Muslims have spoken out or retaliated against the Camden community, despite the disgraceful treatment they received for wanting to build a school. All these people want is a mosque to queitly worship in, not to tell you or me how to dress - though I’m sure a full face Burkha would probably do you wonders you fucked-up ugly bitch.

I believe everyone has their own religion. However, religion is something you should keep it at home not expose to the pubilc. I agree with Cynthia that people came to Australia because it’s a democrary and a peaceful country, therefore, if they can’t integrate into this culture, then they might as well go back to where they came from. This is not racists but realistic. Just like when you come to someone house, you have to follow their rules not you set the rule. You would not like it if they do that to you, right?
Posted by: Peter Love 4:05pm today

Wrong, you ironically named fuckwit. What does wanting to pray have to do with not assimmilating and destrying the peace? How is being a Muslim not intergrating when so many other religions are accepted? And what the fuck are you going on about exposing one’s religion to the public by building a mosque - have you heard of churches, synagogues and temples you fucking dumb prick? Get fucked and catch syphallis.

When a mosque is built, the land it is built on becomes islamic land. I dont think we would want victoria becoming a Muslim State. it is happening to London, UK also. Google it.
Posted by: John of Melbourne 3:47pm today

The Dumb Cunt club needs a new constitution, a bit like the USA, where the same person can’t be elected Dumb Cunt President for more than eight years running because, John of Melbourne, I’m sure even you are sick of continually being voted the most supreme dumb cunt of all, you dumb cunt. For the record, the UK’s Muslim population makes up just 2.8 per cent of the population - Google it. The Queen better buy a burkha real soon.

One of our family friends is a Muslim doctor from Egypt. He’s been in the country for years and is a very well respected member of his community. No mosque either. A mosque is not necessary for the pursuit of Islam as a religion. And cynthia, you’re wrong. Muslims don’t like democracy - it’s the antithesis to the totalitarian society advocated by their religion. They do like our wide open spaces with it’s trillions of dollars of mineral resources though…
Posted by: Shane 3:47pm today

I see, by telling us you have a Muslim friend you want us to believe you’re enlightened, yet that Amazon tribe that shot bows and arrows at the helicopter last week are more aware than you Shane - gee, that’s a nice name. So Muslims don’t like democracy hey Shanee - fuck man, what are countries like Pakistan, Bangladesh, Egypt, Malayisa, Maldives, Burkina Faso, Gambia, Guinea, Mali, Senegal, Chad, Djibouti, Albania, Kosovo and Turkey doing wrong? Now go away quickly, you’re shitting me.

What utter crap, You simply cannot move to another country or area and then complain that it is not to your liking. Our village doesn’t even have a proper bus service, let alone a mosque, so how about giving us some decent public transport and then these whingers can use it to leave and go somewhere else.
Posted by: Ian of Emerald 3:41pm today

All these people are saying is that why would prefer to live in a town with a mosque so they can attend their Friday prayers. Why does that piss you off so much Ian? Go take some happy pills, in fact take the whole fuckin’ bottle shithead!

Maybe they should’ve done their homework before they came to Oz.
Posted by: ar of nsw 2:36pm today

Yeah you’re spot on ar. If THEY knew about the hate they’d be subjected to without any of our political leaders having the guts to stand up for them for fear of losing the popular vote they might have chosen New Zealand or Canada instead. You Fuck knuckle! Also, anyone who calls Australia Oz, is a cunt.
