What will Bolt do now the Greens oppose alcopop tax?

Posted by clubwah on May 16, 2008

Imagine of the Greens were the first to say they would oppose the alcopop tax in the Senate - they would be accused, by their haters like Andrew Bolt, of putting their self interest ahead of the health of our youth and jeopardising the economy.

Of course there was no such criticism when Dr Fuckinflipflop announced his Party would oppose the alcopop tax because he values all alcoholic beverages.

So now the Greens have joined the Liberals in saying they would oppose the girly-drink tax and blow a $3billion hole in the Rudd Government’s first Budget, where will the likes of Bolt lean?

Let’s hope his head explodes, all Scanners like.

It’s called diplomacy George

Posted by clubwah on May 16, 2008

George W Bush stepped out from his role of lame-duck President to launch a scathing attack on Presidential hopeful Barak Obama, saying the Senator’s plan to engage in talks with the leaders of America’s enemies, including Iran, smacks of appeasement.

Of course he used Hitler as an example, an interesting analogy considering he was speaking to the Israeli Knesset on the occassion of Israel’s 60th anniversary of independence.

Bush said: “Some seem to believe that we should negotiate with the terrorists and radicals, as if some ingenious argument will persuade them they have been wrong all along.

“We have heard this foolish delusion before. As Nazi tanks crossed into Poland in 1939, an American senator declared: ‘Lord, if only I could have talked to Hitler, all of this might have been avoided.’

This is a bit rich considering the ”crusade” option Bush has taken on terrorism been an abject failure. Maybe he should get into dialogue with leaders of the so-called “Axis of Evil” instead of simply listening to God.

Today the Obama campaign noted that Robert Gates, the US Defence Secretary, had told the Washington Post only yesterday that the United States needed to “sit down and talk” with Iran.

It’s a good look

Posted by clubwah on May 16, 2008

I was ever hopeful of a dream Democrat ticket of Obama - Clinton, but with John Edwards throwing his important support in for Barak Obama, and Hillary’s attacks on Obama an easy wedge for the Republicans to exploit, Obama - Edwards wouldn’t be a bad way to go.
