The things you see watching TV! #1

Posted by clubwah on March 30, 2008

There I was with my daughter snuggled up on the couch watching Geelong bend over and sodomise Essendon and once again leaving Matthew Lloyd goalless. So, what could there to complain about?

Nothing as far as the footy is concerned, but when you’re sitting there watching any program with your children do you have to be subjected to road safety ads showing the aftermath of motorcycle ads, including “hands that look like they’ve been through a blender”?

I know it’s not the real thing, and the ads are there to serve a purpose, but it’s a bit much for kids to put up with.

had the same experience Wah, covered my 7 years old’s eyes .. but when the ads came on it was ok, the ad was a lot gentler on a 7 year old Bomber supporter than watching a Geelong team that looks like being as powerful as the Bombers of 2000!
Seriously, noticed exactly the same thing and had same reaction!

What, you subjected your daughter to that? How cruel, fancy letting a kid sit through two hours of watching little Gary Junior, Matthew “Oh no, I’m not gay” Scarlett & Cam “OK, I am gay” Mooney prance about like a bunch of fairies. Wait until they play St Kilda – they better leave the handbags home that day.

How dare you abuse Cameron Mooney Ray, next time I’m in Bright I’m going to shove a poplar tree up your arse. Questioning the sexuality of Geelong players is rich coming from a St Kilda player, especially after Gehrig’s topless false farewell where he looked like he was on the dance floor of the Blue Oyster Bar. At least we know Stephen Milne isn’t gay – Clubwah.

Longie, I won’t gloat, except to say whenever Lloyd goes goalless against Geelong, a little bit of me is reborn and my head regains a few thousand hairs.

Please note I have added to Ray’s comment.

Yes, you took out the bit about how Geelong have handed St Kilda the premiership this year by giving them Steven King … for nothing! Smart move that.

Actually Ray I was impressed with Charlie Gardner against the Swans, Interesting to see him in the centre. He also looks bloody fitter too – unless its the vertical stripes.

I don’t think we’ll miss King. Young Mark Blake did a brilliant job today and we’ve still got Ottens to come back. We also have a couple of great new kids in Gamble and Harry Taylor.

I’m going to Telstra Dome to see that Geelong v Saints game, it should be a beauty.

The thing about King is he was just what the Saints needed, a genuine ruckman. Combined with Michael Gardiner who seems to be “off the drugs” and finally fit (and guess what, he can actually play good footy after all!) he’s changed their structure and allowed them to use Koschitzke & Riewoldt in set positions. Yes Charlie Gardiner looks good too but might struggle to hold a spot in a side that’s now got enormous depth. The Saints are still in 2nd gear but are warming up and yes that Geelong v St Kilda gane should be unreal – when’s it on?

Geelong v St Kilda is round four. You still have to get past the Bulldogs first.

Oh, round 4 – we mightn’t be in top gear by then (just making excuses in advance).
